Smoothie ice lollies are a perfect treat for little ones to enjoy during the summer months, and they can help create the ice lollies themselves. They are much healthier than shop brought alternatives as they contain far less sugar. All you need to create these tasty treats is an ice lolly mould, some fresh fruits, natural yogurt and milk.
For this recipe you can make two or three different coloured mixes to create a layered ice smoothie ice lollies. For example for a purple smoothie mix use summer berries such as blackberries and raspberries. This is a perfect way to practice colours with your child.
-Encourage your child to wash their hands before starting and let them give the fruit a wash before preparing the smoothie mixes.
-Pop the fruits into a blender with the yogurt and blend using the milk to loosen. Repeat this with your other mixes. If you would like to layer your smoothie mixes fill the moulds part of the way with one colour then layer others on top to create a colourful stripey effect. This allows your child to be creative but do assist them so they don’t overfill the moulds.
-Leave for 3 hours or until frozen solid and then enjoy!
